I'm a dork. I kinda set my oldest up for disappointment by spoiling her at a young age. I should've been teaching my kiddo things like delayed gratification, the value of hard work and the concept that things aren't free. I guess now is better than never.
Since she's just a wee one, we decided money was too easily lost, and too confusing. We decided a ticket system was a better way to go with her.
Introducing princess tickets and truck bucks.
I laminated them so they'd be nice and sturdy. Then had her decorate an old oatmeal container. She gets tickets for things like doing chores, random good deeds, keep her undies dry, you get the idea...
I then gathered a bunch of prizes to put in the good girl store. This was an assortment of dollar store items and real toys like fairies, flashlights, and stuffed animals. Everything in the box has a ticket value to help her with the concept of saving.
It's been fantastic. She gets so excited to earn tickets and loves the fact that she earned her prizes.
For instance she won some fabulous solar system stickers this morning.
She's in heaven
