Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.

Charles R. Swindoll

So, I feel that I've been slacking in the mothering department lately. As a mother of a 3 1/2 year old and an almost 3 month old baby, I'm having a hard time juggling the needs of everyone. Then the other day it struck me, the reason my life feels so chaotic is because, in my sleep deprived state, I've abandoned all structure. No wonder my little gal is bouncing off the walls!

The next few months will be dedicated to regaining that structure, in a fun and fulfilling manner. First, I made a schedule. If you know me, this should not surprise you.

We started with a simple activity acquired from one of the many wonderful children's activity blogs out there. Cloud dough. Good messy fun.

So much fun that I thought, "hey, maybe there's something to this".

I assigned monthly themes, for example July will be "how does your garden grow" (A full listing of monthly themes to follow). Of course this is not an original idea, but it was a lightbulb moment for me. I thought "maybe other moms have kids and toddlers bouncing off the walls. Maybe they'd like to join me!"

Here's what's to come. I'll be posting our weekly activities list along with links to instructions and ingredients. I'll also update with our experiences.

I'm very excited to see if this not only makes a difference for my kids, but brings me more joy as a parent. Let the journey begin!

Great ideas! I definitely think structure helps. Looking forward to seeing your weekly activities - I'll have to try some of them out with you. :)
